Top Tips for B2B Content Marketing

Many marketers struggle with the same issue: they don’t have enough time to devote to content marketing. Because of this, it often falls to the wayside entirely, or it’s done in a sporadic way.

When your business lacks consistent content marketing efforts, it’s missing out on a crucial piece of the marketing puzzle. Content marketing is a great way to build awareness for your services among your network and to warm up prospects over time.

Following LinkedIn’s 2023 B2B Benchmark Report, they identified that 62% of marketers are investing more in content creation & distribution, which demonstrates just how powerful of a tool it is within B2B marketing.

And some content is of course better than none at all. However, because of the nature of the algorithm, when you post content more frequently, it rewards you by making your content more visible. So, while your efforts aren’t completely in vain when you post only every so often, unfortunately you’ll only get so much reach and visibility amongst your audience and beyond.

We’ve compiled some tips for time-pressed marketers to help speed up this process so that you can generate more content with the limited time you have.

  1. Use pre-built templates on a graphic design platform like Canva. Especially if you don’t have access to unlimited design capabilities, Canva is a great option to easily and quickly create social media graphics. Simply select the template for the type of content and platform you need (i.e. an Instagram Story or a LinkedIn Feed Post) to ensure you’ll meet the required file dimensions & size perfectly, and either start from scratch or use a pre-built design and customise it to your needs.
  2. Use ChatGPT to come up with content ideas. It’s all in the prompt with ChatGPT. The better the prompt you enter, the better the result will be. For example, entering a detailed one that sets it up from the perspective of your target audience: “Imagine you’re a CEO for a healthtech company. You’re struggling to find the time to bring new clients in, but need to grow the business fairly quickly. I want you to generate content ideas for a lead generation company that would interest and be relevant to this time-pressed CEO.”
  3. Use platform schedulers to automate the posting process. Whether it’s a scheduling platform like Hootsuite or just making use of the handy scheduling features within most platforms, creating all of the content and scheduling it in one go will save you time in the long run.
  4. Create a content plan. Whilst it would be more time-consuming up-front, by setting out an hour each week to plan a month’s or more content in advance, it alleviates the stress that can arise from needing to come up with ideas on short notice to post the next day or week. It will also typically mean better quality content, as you’ve had more time for considered ideas and strategic thinking.
